Our little girl loves to read. This is big because last summer, her confidence around reading was non-existent but now she can sit with books for a long time on her own. She loves that I write books and will ask me now and then, “How’s your next book coming along?” which makes my heart melt completely.
Turns out, the answer is GREAT! We’re putting final touches on cover art and plan to have my “Go Squirrel” series of early-reader coloring books out by mid-summer. My thing is writing social stories for kids that celebrate identity, teach kindness, explore friendship, and model self-confidence.
I love that Brandi Riley organizes her book list for 6-to 8-year-old girls around these categories. She gets the topics that are in the hearts and minds of little girls and their Mama’s.
